Jay’s Freight – Pink Trailer for Breast Cancer
Jay’s has been working with Breast Cancer Action Saskatchewan (BCAS) since 2009 on a unique project; the Pink Trailer for Breast Cancer. We wrapped one of our freight trailers from front to back with custom graphics that promote awareness of the BCAS and honour those who have fought breast cancer. Our trailer travels throughout the province to various events and at each, cancer survivors are invited to sign the trailer as a testament of courage. “The response from the community has been fantastic. Each and every time the semi arrives at an event, people are lined up to sign it,” says Tia Lutz, Executive Director of BCAS. It is a profoundly moving event for both those leaving messages and those who read them.
One of Jay’s own; Margo Gray was the second person to sign the trailer and she has recently celebrated five years of being cancer free. Margo says, “There is no feeling like looking down at your file and reading ‘Invasive Ductal Carcinoma’. My heart stopped. I was told my window for reoccurrence is 5 years and that if it is going to come back, the chances are greatest in the first 5 years.I have been clear on every mammogram and MRI since that first dark year. I hate to toot my own horn…but toot, toot!!!”
Jay’s Moving Saskatchewan is committed to supporting people in the communities they serve through programs like the Pink Trailer for Breast Cancer. It’s very gratifying to know that we’ve helped to raise awareness and funds to help people (and sometimes our own family, coworkers and friends) battle and beat breast cancer.
