Jay’s Freight supports the Multiple Sclerosis Society
Jay’s Freight is happy to support the Multiple Sclerosis Society, an organization which promotes research and education while advocating on issues relating to helping people affected by MS enjoy a better quality of life.
Jay's participates in a number of MS Society events and fundraisers by providing essential transportation and support services. We volunteer our services to:
- The MS WALK - a community-supported, family oriented event that makes a difference in the lives of people living with MS. The national MS WALK is the MS Society's biggest pledge-based fundraising event withmore than 70,000 participants and volunteers taking part in 160 locations across Canada.
- The Rona MS Bike Tour - during this national event cyclists across Canada participate in a one or two day bike ride through rural areas and raise funds to help end MS. The first MS Bike Tours in Canada took place in August 1989. Jay’s Freight was there to help and we remain committed to this important fundraiser.
- MS Carnation Campaign – Every year in the month of May (designated MS Awareness month) volunteers raise funds for the MS Society by selling bouquets of carnations. Money raised at this fundraiser supports the services provided to individuals and families living with multiple sclerosis.
Longtime MS Society volunteer Don Holman (from Jay’s Regina) was honoured with the creation of the “Most Inspirational Volunteer Award” in his memory. The award has, since 2001, been given at both the North and South Bike Tours each year to recognize an individual who goes “above and beyond” helping the MS Society at the bike tour. The Don Holman award is typically presented to long standing volunteers and is given by a member of the Jay’s crew at the bike tour.
Jay’s Freight is pleased to be able to give back to our communities by supporting the Multiple Sclerosis Society in the search for a cure and to help people living with MS.
