Jay’s Freight supports Special Olympics
Jay’s Freight is honoured to take a lead role in the organization of the Worlds Largest Truck Convoy fundraiser supporting Special Olympics.
This fundraiser benefitting Special Olympics had its’ Saskatchewan debut in 2007 and Jay’s has been involved since the beginning. Over the years it has grown steadily, and in 2011 there were 42 trucks (9 of them from Jay’s) participating.
The Special Olympics World’s Largest Truck Convoy is held annually across North America that features a convoy of trucks travelling along various routes - all in support of Special Olympics.
Each year sees a veritable army of compassionate truck drivers participating in the World’s Largest Truck Convoy. The Saskatchewan version has them driving from Saskatoon to Regina to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics athletes and also to change attitudes toward people with intellectual disabilities. The truckers converge in Saskatoon and are escorted in convoy to Regina where they are welcomed by the Special Olympics community.
In 2011 the World’s Largest Truck Convoy raised $20,000 for Special Olympics Saskatchewan. Jay’s Freight would like to say THANK YOU to everyone involved and we are looking forward to yet another successful convoy in 2012!
